Lamb Chair in Nursing and is Director of the Research Center for Symptom Management and Acting Dean in the School of Nursing at the University of California-San Francisco. She was recently awarded The Baxter International Foundation's prestigious Episteme Award and is a recipient of the Oncology Nursing Society/Schering Excellence in Research Award. She has published more than 75 papers, mostly in the area of symptom management in cancer patients. Her book, Management of the Side Effects of Cancer Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy, is cited by professionals and patient advocacy groups as the definitive source of information to support the care of cancer patients. Dr. Dodd will provide important liaison to both cancer patient advocacy groups as well professional organizations such as the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
