Peterson - Loren was President and Chief Executive Officer of ZyStor Therapeutics, a Milwaukee-based biotechnology company developing proprietary enzyme replacement therapies for patients who suffer from rare genetic disorders known as lysosomal storage diseases prior to its sale to BioMarin Pharmaceutical in 2010. He joined ZyStor’s predecessor company, Symbiontics, which was located in St. Louis, Missouri, after serving as President and CEO of Sheffield Pharmaceuticals, a public development-stage respiratory drug delivery company, and Vice President and CFO of Bock Pharmacal Company until its acquisition by Sanofi Pharmaceuticals. Previously, Loren was a partner at Coopers & Lybrand, where he spent 15 years as a certified public accountant. Loren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
